In case you don't follow @NETC_Travel on Twitter (which you really should, by the way), or haven't checked out our feed this week, we've recapped the top tweets in Education & Travel for you below:

  1. “Some of the most exciting times I’ve experienced with students have come when we’ve made a connection with a teacher or class in another country. As corny as it might seem to some, students are really enthused by a Skype video connection with someone in a far off place.” Discover Australian teacher, Jenny Luca’s global classroom initiatives and develop some of your own projects: http://ow.ly/5WpbR

  2. On April 29th, the world witnessed a monumental event, the Royal Wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton. The ceremony was held at the breathtakingly gorgeous Westminster Abbey. If you were watching on your TV (or DVR), you certainly saw the beauty of this historic place. But if you haven’t been and you’re planning to travel to London, England, you can’t miss it. Here a traveler reflects on his visit there and offers tips to make the most of the experience. http://ow.ly/5WnhA

  3. When I travel, I like to fully immerse myself in the place I’m visiting. I like to befriend the locals and discover the hidden sites where you won’t find tourists, of course I enjoy visiting major attractions as well, but it’s always fun to get involved in the authentic culture as best you can. Food is no exception. I love to eat. There aren’t many foods that my stomach doesn’t welcome, so when I’m visiting a new place, I have to try the local flavors. One traveler recommends the best European cities to visit if you’re a real foodie. Have you been to any of these cities or tried any of these foods? Or perhaps you have a favorite that wasn’t mentioned? Tell me about it in the comments section below! http://ow.ly/5WnOG

  4. So you’re psyched for the upcoming trip you’ve been planning for the last nine months. Now it’s only a few days away and reality has set in…it’s time to pack! Ugh! The worst part of traveling for me has always been packing my bags. If you have to stop and ask yourself if you’ve packed too much, yes, you have, now take half of the stuff out of your bag – you don’t need it. If you’d rather go to the dentist than pack for a trip, check out this blog post that focuses on travel don’ts. Hopefully next time you start the daunting task of packing your bag you’ll remember some of these packing errors and pack your bag more efficiently http://ow.ly/5Wo8E.

  5. Blogging is “an outlet for teachers to build awareness about issues, share information and best practices with one another and bring about systemic change in education.” But it can also be tricky to walk that fine line between what’s ok to share on the World Wide Web, and what you should not put in print for all to see. Here is a guide to how and why teachers should blog http://ow.ly/5WoVf. Do you blog? Share your tips in the comments below!

  6. Continued from last week, an NETC student traveler describes her educational tour to Spain and Morocco. Follow along as students explore Seville and Ronda in Spain and Tangier, Morocco during La Aventura en España – An Adventure in Spain!
