The 43rd annual Indiana Foreign Language Teachers Association (IFLTA) Conference takes place this Thursday through Saturday in Indianapolis. The conference theme is “Languages at the Core of Success” and keynote, Laura Terrill will speak Friday morning to kick off the conference.

This will be Tour Consultant and former educator, Michael Edelstein’s 17th year at the IFLTA Conference. He will be at NETC’s booth to answer all of your questions about educational travel.
He’ll teach you how taking a trip abroad can help bring classroom lessons to life for your students and how educational travel is aligned with the 21st Century Skills Map for World Languages’ focus on the importance of students speaking a foreign language and increasing their knowledge of other cultures. As a former teacher, and current “Educated Traveler,” Michael’s experiences in both education and travel make him an excellent resource for any questions you may have.

As a bonus for stopping by our booth, teachers will have the opportunity to
Win a Free Trip to Europe! As the lucky winner, you will experience educational travel for yourself on a long weekend abroad, while meeting other educators and members of the NETC team. You’ll also discover what makes NETC educational tours unique. If you don't walk away the grand prize winner, you might leave with one of several consolation prizes, including Neil himself, a photo album of his multiple trips around the world, and other exciting giveaways. So definitely don’t miss your chance to win and come say “hi!”

See Michael present at two workshops this Friday afternoon!

At 1:30 join us in Suite 8 for
“Spanish Teacher Immersion Programs that Inspire and Enrich.”  Hear from Tom Alsop and other educators, and learn about the unique Aventura Cultural Immersion Programs for Spanish Teachers in Guadalajara, Mexico and Madrid, Spain. These NETC programs feature dynamic, interactive teaching teams. Use the city of Guadalajara or Mexico as your teaching laboratory! Find out how you can earn six hours of graduate credit in Spanish, from the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs, are available for each program. Video clips of past Aventura Cultural programs, games and prizes!

At 2:30, head to Suite 15 and Michael will guide you on
Cutting Workload While Improving Instruction & Student Centering.” Tradition, dedication and a certain workaholic tendency lead teachers down some of the wrong paths. Rethinking homework, corrections, and the ways in which your students can be involved can make your life easier and improve retention. Hear ideas from “Every Minute Counts & Conscious Classroom Management” and from a teacher who had to cure his own inefficiency.

NETC is really looking forward to being a part of the IFLTA Conference again this year, and
Michael is excited to see you all this Friday & Saturday!
