Statue in Madrid, Spain

This statue, located in Madrid, Spain, is a monument to the famous Spanish playwright, Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra.

   Classroom Activity

Download this image of the Don Quixote Statue and try out some of these suggestions for classroom activities with your students:

  • Do you know what this statue depicts?
  • If you were to be portrayed as a famous figure and someone was to make a statue of you, what sort of legendary event would you be famous for? Draw a picture of your heroic pose and write a brief summary.

We'd love to hear your ideas! If you've done a lesson on Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra or Don Quixote and have any ideas for the classroom, let us know in the comments section!
