How To Apply:
STEP 1: FOR TEACHERS - How to Nominate an NETC Travel Scholar
Each teacher may nominate students for either category of scholarship. To nominate a student, download the Scholarship Application, complete and sign it, and forward with a cover letter.
STEP 2: FOR STUDENTS
Each student must submit an Application Letter explaining why he/she is applying for the scholarship and what the trip would mean to him/her. This must be included with the scholarship submission.
There are two categories of submission
Category 1: Visual Art
- Design a Tourism Campaign. Using any medium, create a tourism campaign for one of the cities or countries to which NETC travels. It should be targeted towards students.
OR
- Shoot a 60-Second DVD Commercial. Design a tourism promotion for a city or country NETC visits. Incorporate NETC, LEAP! and the importance of world travel for students into the presentation.
Category 2: Writing
- Design an activity that a tour director could use on your NETC Tour. The activity should follow NETC's approach to experiential learning. Check out our web site for examples of existing LEAP activities to inspire you.
STEP 3: SUBMIT YOUR ENTRY!
Students should send their Scholarship Entry and Application Letter, along with the Completed Scholarship Application Form and Cover Letter to:

All entries must be received by NETC by October 1, 2008. Winners will be announced November 15, 2008, and featured on the NETC website for two months.
* NETC Travel Scholars will receive the full amount of their program fee, registration fee and all optional excursion fees for the program being led in 2009 by the nominating teacher.
* Group entries are accepted, however, please note, a winning group will be treated as one individual winner. This means that the group will receive one of the four available scholarships, and the one scholarship will be evenly divided among the members of the winning group. If any member of a winning group is unable to travel on their 2009 tour, his/her portion of the scholarship will be dispersed among the other members of the winning group that are traveling on their 2009 tour.
* Please do not include any Student Enrollment Applications with your scholarship entry. Student Enrollment Applications should be sent in a separate envelope to: NETC, Attn: Student Accounts, 50 Franklin Street 2nd Floor, Boston, MA 02110.
